Red Nose Day Dance Challenge - The Performance!

34

After the success of Pudsey’s Adventures art competition for Children In Need back in November, we talked about what we could do to raise money for Comic Relief.  As this year is the 25th anniversary of Red Nose Day we thought about doing something based on the number 25.  The Princess came up with the idea of making up 25 dance routines, but I thought this might be a little bit ambitious so she settled on the idea of learning 25 styles of dancing and putting them all into one routine!

The photo shows the different styles she incorporated into the routine.  I think it’s worth mentioning that she only goes to an hour’s dance lesson per week (which is split between ballet, modern and tap).  I danced when I was younger and studied contemporary dance at University, but I am certainly no expert!  We looked at online tutorials and videos for most of the styles and of course The Princess turned them into her own versions, but I hope you are still able to see most of the styles within the video.

She’d chosen to dance to ‘Dance With Me Tonight’ by Olly Murs and I think her choice of music worked very well.  It also meant she wanted to practice over and over again so she could keep listening to the song!

She worked incredibly hard and she found some of the steps difficult to pick up but was determined to get them right and remember the whole routine.  I am really proud that she did!

There is still time to donate to her Red Nose Day Giving page and even be in with a chance of winning a 20x28” canvas of some of our Olly Murs tour photos if you donate by midnight tomorrow (more info on that here!)

She has raised £75 so far, which I think is fantastic, so a big thank you to everyone who has donated!
